Precision, Teamwork, and Horsemanship: The Sunshine State Drill Team Comes to Jacksonville June 27th & 28th, 2026
The Jacksonville Equestrian Center is excited to welcome the Sunshine State Mounted Drill Team Association (SSMDTA) for an action-packed weekend of equestrian teamwork, creativity, and competition.
Set to take place at our facility, this event showcases one of the most dynamic and entertaining disciplines in the horse world—mounted drill team riding.
What is Mounted Drill Team Riding?
Mounted drill team is a unique equestrian sport where teams of riders perform choreographed patterns on horseback, often set to music. These performances highlight precision riding, timing, coordination, and creativity, all while demonstrating strong horsemanship skills.
From fast-paced formations to themed performances with costumes and music, drill team events offer something for both seasoned equestrians and first-time spectators.
